With two or more photos, each shows as a **square thumbnail**, so export **1:1 at 1080 × 1080 px** and keep the subject centred. A single photo keeps its own shape, but extreme panoramas and very tall images get cut off. Very long or very wide images are trimmed in the timeline, and people must tap to see the whole thing. - **Two to nine photos** are laid out as a grid of square thumbnails. Anything outside the central square is hidden until someone taps, so crop to 1:1 yourself rather than letting WeChat decide. - **Nine photos** make the classic 3 × 3 grid — some brands design the nine images as one picture split into tiles. Since 2022 WeChat lets you select more than nine photos, but anything beyond nine is turned into a video slideshow rather than a grid. ## Video The Moments video limit grew from 15 seconds (2012) to 30 seconds (2021) to **up to 5 minutes** from March 2025, rolled out gradually. If some of your audience runs older WeChat versions, keep the key moment in the first 30 seconds. WeChat does not publish an official aspect ratio for Moments video; vertical and square both display well on phones. ## Posting as a brand WeChat Official Accounts cannot post to Moments. Brands post from staff members' personal accounts or through WeCom (Enterprise WeChat) customer Moments.
